Trained as a biologist, Mathieu studied at the University of Geneva. Now living under the sunny skies of Montpellier, he continues to benefit from the advantages of Swiss direct democracy, which allow him to give his opinion in countless, yet always interesting, popular votes. Co-founder of Lisode, he is the driving force behind the internal research and development activities of our cooperative, and is the principal author of the guide to public participation. Having formalized our methodology himself, he is able to adapt it to different contexts and languages. For Mathieu, participation is both a method and a life philosophy, on paper and in the field. Whether at work, in housing, or shopping, Mathieu has one guiding principle: cooperation. Rigorous yet a bit of a dreamer, he is a strong advocate for this more just and horizontal mode of organization, which, on his small scale, serves as a lever to change the world.
