intervention

Organizational development

Lisode supports the internal organizational development projects of organizations that work in the areas of research and government, but also in the private sector. We intervene for any of the four following purposes:

  • Team Building
  • Change Management
  • Alternative dispute resolution (mediation)

Team building

Lisode supports recently created teams to clarify and agree on their objectives, to get to know each other better, and to establish strategic plans to realize objectives. However, Lisode also intervenes in teams that have already existed for some time. In order to jointly draw lessons from the past, to reinforce existing relationships, and to plan for the future, these teams may want to benefit from the support of Lisode’s experiences facilitators.

Our team building interventions usually have the character of some preparatory interviews with a number of the team’s members plus a two or three-day retreat.

Change management

Introducing change is often difficult for organizations as resistances may form anywhere in the organization and block success. Lisode expertise permits to create change with the concerned parties and thus generate support for the planned objectives. We are assisting organizations at the various stages of the change process even when difficulties and blockades have already become visible.

Our interventions are characterized by careful situation analyses as well as workshops with the concerned parties.

Alternative dispute resolution (mediation)

Lisode intervenes in organizational conflicts that may have turned difficult. Conflicts can become expensive for an organization as they may result not only in lost time and wasted energy, but also in blocked or destroyed internal communications, sick personnel, aborted or missed projects and a negative image with clients. Our alternative dispute resolution approach is based on the classical theory and practice of mediation  which includes:

  • The willingness of all concerned parties to cooperate for the time of the mediation
  • A serious effort of all parties to find a solution or a regulation with which the other parties can also live (principle of win-win)
  • The presence of a mediator who is content neutral but who supports the efforts of all parties to express and meet their objectives and who ensure communication between the conflicting parties
  • The use of a time-proven process which includes a preparatory phase with the conflicting parties, the opening phase including agenda setting, the understanding of issues and objectives, the screening of possible solutions, the negotiation of solutions and finally contracting
